Thank you to all that have turned in the Pumpkin Patch permission slips with the money. I will let you know who will be driving. Some who said they would drive do not have their driving information in the office. Please check on it.
Our first grade service project will be to bring in items to be taken to the D Street Homeless Shelter. I will be sending home a note about the kinds of items that are needed
We have started Level II in reading. In reading we are reviewing contractions, compound words, endings of s, ed, and ing, cause and effect, categories, predictions, short a and i, plurals, vocabulary, words in correct order for a sentence, rhyming, and comprehension. In Math we have started a new chapter on subtraction. In Science we still continue to work on the ecosystem. We will also be working with the seeds that your child was asked to bring in. In Social Studies we are learning about the atlas and directions. The atlas will come home Monday. In Religion we are talking about Baptism and grace. In Spelling we are working on short i words.
Friday is the end of the first quarter. Report cards will go out the following Friday.
Please remember to mark your child's sweatshirts or sweaters. The weather has cooled off and it is difficult to know whose sweatshirt is whose if their is no name on it.
A reminder: there is no school on Friday. The teachers will all be at an inservice in Visalia.
