It was great seeing lots of you at the Relay For Life. Both first grades are participating in the First Friday Mass on Friday, May 2. The crowning of Mary will be during the mass. We invite all of you to come and celebrate the month of May which honors Mary, our Mother.
The field trip was a great success with the children enjoying the animals, riding Ruby, and seeing the play. A fun time was had by all. Thank you to all the parents that drove or brought food.
Mrs. Mills' first grade will be performing at Mission Gardens on Thursday, May 1, at 5:30. A note went home to parents giving all the details.
We have completed all our vocabulary words.
A reminder: Friday is a half day, with dismissal at 12:30.
We hope you have a good week. GOD LOVES YOU!

Thank you to all of you that brought in the cookies and 7-Up. Thank you to all the parents that helped transport the items to church on Friday and to those who helped at the reception on Saturday. It was greatly appreciated.
We enjoyed meeting with all of you during conferences. Thank you for coming.
There will be an all-school Mass on Monday with all the second graders who received First Communion on Saturday. We hope you can attend.
The Spring Program will be Wednesday evening at OLM School, at 7:00 p.m. Mrs. Bellini's class will be participating in this program.
Our end of the year field trip will be held on Wednesday, April 23. We will be going to the Fruit Barn, located on HWY 140 going to Yosemite, to see some animals and to ride on Ruby the shetland pony. We will have lunch out there and then will leave and go to Golden Valley High School for a play that starts at 12:45 and will end at 2:00. We will be back at school by 2:30. Permission slips will go home this week. It should be a fun day.
We continue to review the same things in Reading. In Science we are learning about matter. In Social Studies we are studying about the past and how things have changed. In Math we are working on double digit addition and will be moving to double digit subtraction this week. In P.E. we are working with bounce balls. In Religion we are learning about the Holy Spirit and the Church.

APRIL 7-APRIL 11
We hope you all enjoyed the Open House and that your parents enjoyed Grandparent's Day. A fun time was had by all.
This week is conference week and dismissal is at 12:30 each day.
Next Saturday is First Communion for the second graders. The first grade parents are responsible for the reception that is held after the First Communion Mass. Mrs. Bellini and Mrs. Mills' class each need 2 parents that will transport all of the soda and cookies to the church on Friday morning. If you are available to help please contact your child's teacher. We then again need 2 parents that will be able to help with the reception after the mass on Saturday. If you can help please contact your child's teacher. A reminder: next year your child will be receiving First Holy Communion and the first grade will be hosting their reception. So please volunteer your time if you can. A note will go home on Monday as to what you are responsible in bringing for the reception.
If your child did not take their final spelling test on Friday as a result of Grandparent's Day and there not being time the test will be given tomorrow on Monday.
There are no vocabulary words this week.
