School is moving along. The Relay For Life was a big success and thank you to all that purchased free dress for $1.00 on Friday. The First Communion Mass for the second graders was beautiful. Thank you to all that sent in the soda and cookies. Thank you to the parents and grandparents who transported everything to the church and to those who served on Saturday. We could not have done it without you.
There is a lot going on this week. On Monday there will be an all-school Mass at 8:15 for the First Communicants. On Friday it is Grandparents Day and dismissal is at 12:30. Mrs. Mills' class and Mrs. Keeler's class are planning the May Crowning Mass on Friday at 8:15. Mrs. Bellini's class will also participate in the crowning of Mary during the Mass. We hope to see you all there. After mass breakfast will be served to the entire school.
Curriculum remains the same. A few reminders: continue to have your child review vocabulary words, continue to review math facts at home, continue to review counting money and telling time, and continue to read the planners and to sign them. Thank you for your cooperation.
If you have read this blog have your child draw a face clock and show 3:30 on it. Have a great week. GOD LOVES YOU!

APRIL 20-APRIL 24
Greetings! We hope you all had a wonderful Easter vacation and are rested and ready to finish off the last 6 weeks of school. It is amazing how fast this year has gone by. We do have a busy 6 weeks coming up and it starts with First Communion on Saturday, April 25. You will each be receiving a flyer that will be asking you to bring to school either soda or cookies for the First Communion reception. The first grade has always been in charge of this reception. We will need about 3-4 parents who will be willing to transport all of the soda and cookies to the church on Friday morning and set up the tables and get the trays of cookies ready. On Saturday, immediately following the 9:00 First Communion Mass, we will need 4 parents who will be able to help at the reception. Please let Mrs. Bellini or Mrs. Mills know if you are able to help out in these areas. If not, we will be calling some of you. We do not expect parents of First Communicants to work.
Saturday, April 25, is also the Relay For Life walk at Merced College. We do hope you can find some time to come out and see our booth and to walk. It is a most rewarding experience, and so many of us have been touched by cancer.
Friday, May 1, is Grandparents Day. Mrs. Mills' class along with Mrs. Keeler's class will be preparing the May Crowning Mass. Both Mrs. Bellini's and Mrs. Mills' class will be participating in the May Crowning. The Mass will be held at 8:15 and we hope to see you there.
Curriculum remains the same. Please continue to review the vocabulary words. It is also a good time to review short and long vowel sounds. When your child comes home with a reading packet or their reader you should be asking questions about the story. Remember: any question you ask is a good one. In Religion we will be discussing the Resurrection and then will be learning about the Holy Spirit. In Math we are starting clocks. We will do o'clock and half-past the hour. Those are the two areas you can work on at home. Please continue to have your child work on their math facts up to 12. They are taking timed tests on these and they are being charted. We are learning about nutrition in Science and we are studying the past and the present in Social Studies. In P.E. we are planning on going into a ball unit.
We hope you have a great week. If you have read this blog have your child have your child give his/her teacher a "high 5" and a big smile. GOD LOVES YOU!
