Thank you to all of you that read my blog and sent in the apples. I cut them and they were enjoyed by the first graders. Tomorrow, August 29, is Open House at OLM. It begins at 11:00 and runs until 1:00. The tri-tip dinner begins at 11:00 and runs until 2:00. I hope you are all able to come and see your child's classroom and work.
Friday there will be an all-school Mass. Students may not wear shorts to Mass. Dismissal is at 12:30. On Monday, Sept. 6, there will be no school. Enjoy.
Please continue to work on the vocabulary words that have been sent home. We have started our first story in our reading series. Some of you may think the stories are a bit easy. For right now that is good, as your child needs lots of practice reading out loud. By reading out loud your child will become more fluent in reading. Another list of vocabulary words will be going home on Monday.
Continue to work on addition math facts whose sum is no higher than 6. Timed tests will begin on Sept. 13. Your child should also be able to read number words, zero to twelve. Please work on that at home.

Thank you so much for getting those planners signed. That is part of your child's daily homework. If you have read this blog, have your child take one old vocabulary word and write down on a piece of paper a sentence using that vocabulary word. Have them turn it in to Mrs. Mills.
