We have one week until our week of Thanksgiving vacation. The first graders made the turkey centerpieces for the Thanksgiving dinner on Wednesday evening at the Parish Hall. Thank you to the moms and grandmother who helped with that project. When the dinner is over the first graders will be allowed to take their turkey home. If you were unable to attend the Veteran's Day assembly you missed a great performance by each class. The veterans loved it as did the parents who were able to attend.
On Thursday all students are allowed to have a free dress day. On Friday morning there will be a Thanksgiving Prayer Service at 8:15. You are all invited and welcome to attend. Also on Friday the first grade will be joining the kindergarten to have their annual Thanksgiving feast. Thank you to the parents that are helping.
This week we will also begin practicing for the Christmas Program. First grade will be performing in that. If a list of songs comes home please work on your child learning the words. I have not yet decided how I will work this.
Curriculum remains the same. Just a note about math facts. It is very important that your child work on these everyday. The goal is that they increase there speed with accuracy and not use fingers, beads, or number lines to figure out the answer. Flashcards are the best way to get to this point. In the end memorization is a big part of it. Thank you for your cooperation.

Have a great week. If you have read this blog have your child find out and write down the name of the American Indian who taught the Pilgrims about putting a fish in the ground to help grow their crops. Enjoy the fall and the wonderful colors of the leaves. God truly is at work. GOD LOVES YOU!
