NOVEMBER 26-NOVEMBER 30

We hope you all had a relaxing, enjoyable vacation and Thanksgiving. When we come back we will soon be into the Advent season. The first graders are presenting the morning prayer on Thursday, December 6 at 8:00 a.m. You are all welcome to come. Both first grade classes will be attending The Nutcracker on Thursday, November 29. It is exciting as some of our students will be performing. It should be a great time for all. Drivers have already been contacted and should be at school by 8:45.

In Language Arts we will be finishing up the 3rd level of readers. We will then be moving into a hardback copy. We are working on short vowel a, e, i, and o, blends, digraphs, contractions, compound words, cause and effect, sequencing, comparison and contrast, comprehension and vocabulary.

In Social Studies we are working on a Native American unit and reading maps. In Science we are learning about animals in the ecosystem. In Religion we are finishing up saint books.

Just a reminder: We have been having some problems on the playground with children being unkind to one another. We have discussed this in the classroom but would also like you to discuss this at home with your child. "You aren't my friend" or "you can't play with us" are the kinds of things that are being said. Thank you for your help in this matter.
