We are looking forward to seeing you all at Mass and the Open House! Remember the Mass is at 11:00 and the Open House follows until 2:00. The dinner is available until 3:00. Your children have been working hard and you will be able to see that by the work that is displayed. They took great pride in drawing their family and themselves. Remember Open House is just that. It is a time to look at your child's classroom, the schedule, the curriculum, your child's textbooks and work. It is not a time to discuss your child's progress. Progress reports will be out in one week. If you need to see either of us you may set up an appointment through the office. Thanks for your cooperation and understanding on this matter.
A few reminders:
If your child is having a birthday treats are welcomed, just make sure you notify the teacher that a treat is coming. If your child is having a birthday party please do not send invitations to school unless the entire class is invited. You may send invitations if it is an all boy or all girl party. Children's feelings are easily hurt. Mrs. Mills' class has 18 students and Mrs. Bellini's class has 17.
This week we will be starting weekly spelling tests. Your child will come home with his\her spelling list on Tuesday. Keep it at home and review it nightly. Bonus words are added they day of the spelling test. Bonus words will be words that your child should be able to spell because they hear all of the sounds in the word. A practice spelling test is given on Thursday and the final test is given on Friday.
